Maximising Recovery in International Infrastructure Disputes

This workshop brought together legal counsel, an asset recovery specialist, and a third-party funder in an early stage meeting scenario to consider the legal options available and practical steps required to formulate an effective dispute resolution strategy in a cross border infrastructure dispute involving a Chinese entity of the type that might arise out of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Experts considered the lifecycle of a dispute from commencement of proceedings through to enforcement and ultimate recovery. The aim was to equip attendees with the tools to make sound business decisions when faced with a dispute arising out of an infrastructure project and to understand Hong Kong and HKIAc's role in dispute resolution. Over 70 members of the Vietnam legal and business professional community attended.
