Inclusion on HKIAC's Panel or List of Arbitrators is for a period of five or three years respectively, ending on 31 December of the final year.
An arbitrator applying for continued inclusion will be required to:
- Detail the experience he or she has had acting as arbitrator during their term of inclusion on HKIAC's Panel or List; and
- Confirm continued compliance with the criteria for entry onto the Panel or the List (as appropriate).
Access the criteria for inclusion on HKIAC's Panel and List of Arbitrators here.
The Appointments Committee may take into account, where available, feedback from counsel and co-arbitrators received as part of the evaluation process HKIAC undertakes in relation to its administered cases.
The final decision as to whether an arbitrator’s inclusion on HKIAC's Panel or List will be renewed will be taken by the Appointments Committee, which reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to admit or reject applications for continued inclusion on the Panel or List. In making that decision the Appointments Committee may direct that an arbitrator undertake specific training or demonstrate particular experience before continued inclusion is confirmed.
The Appointments Committee may also, in its absolute discretion, allow arbitrators fulfilling areas of particular requirement including, inter alia, nationality, country of residence, language ability and experience, to remain on the Panel or List beyond the expiry of their initial term.
The decision of the Appointments Committee as to whether a name remains on or is removed from the Panel or List is final.
