Appointments Committee
The Appointments Committee is mandated by the HKIAC Council primarily to: (1) appoint and confirm arbitrators, emergency arbitrators, mediators and experts; (2) determine the number of arbitrators; (3) fix the costs of the arbitration; and (4) review and admit members to HKIAC’s panels and list of arbitrators. The work of the Appointments Committee is subject to the supervision of the HKIAC Council.

A member of the Appointments Committee may not be appointed by HKIAC as an arbitrator in any arbitration during their term of office. A member’s designation as arbitrator by a party in an arbitration may be confirmed by HKIAC.
