Introduction

This Scam Alert page contains a list of websites, emails or other means of communication using HKIAC’s name on fake HKIAC letterheads with false contact details or fraudulent information etc. that have been reported to HKIAC. Viewers of this page are advised that the list contained here is not an exhaustive list, and they should take all steps they deem appropriate to confirm the true identity of the party they are dealing with and the authenticity of the relevant correspondence.

Anyone who has had any dealings with the subjects in the Scam Alerts is advised to report the matter to the Police. 

 

Recently issued scam alerts :


Phishing Email purporting to be issued by HKIAC (16th Oct 2024)

HKIAC attention was drawn to a phishing email (“Email”) dated 16th October 2024 sent from the email account arbitration@hkiac.org.

The Email spoofed as "JPMorgan Chase & Co" and invited the recipients to click on a link purportedly related to login to their Chase account on a fake website. 

The Email was not issued by the HKIAC. The link is malicious and is unsafe to click on.

The matter has been reported to the Police.


Phishing Email purporting to be issued by HKIAC (5th Dec 2023)

HKIAC attention was drawn to a phishing email (“Email”) dated 5th December 2023 sent from the email account debbie@hk-iac.org.

The Email invited the recipients to click on a link purportedly related to login to their Microsoft service account. 

The Email was not issued by the HKIAC. The link is malicious and is unsafe to click on.

The matter has been reported to the Police.


Phishing Email purporting to be issued by HKIAC (16th Aug 2023)

HKIAC attention was drawn to a phishing email (“Email”) dated 16 August 2023 sent from the email account arbitration@hkiac.org.

The Email invited the recipients to click on a link purportedly related to a Policy Address. 

The Email was not issued by the HKIAC. The link may be malicious and is unsafe to click on.

The matter has been reported to the Police.


Phishing Email purporting to be issued by HKIAC (14 July 2023)

HKIAC attention was drawn to a phishing email (“Email”) dated 14 July 2023 sent from the email account info@hk01.com.

The Email invited the recipients to click on a link purportedly related to an upcoming awards ceremony. 

The Email was not issued by the HKIAC. The link may be malicious and is unsafe to click on.

The matter has been reported to the Police.
