HKIAC held a workshop on arbitration in Nay Pyi Daw on 14 March 2019. The training was tailored to the Myanmar government and officers of the Supreme Court. Over 25 participants were present. Topics included HKIAC and Hong Kong arbitration – suitability for BRI disputes; Hong Kong: arbitration legislation and practice – the strengths of Hong Kong; a comparison between commercial and investment arbitration; and a discussion on problematic clauses. Expert speakers were Robert San Pe (Arbitration Chambers); Kiran Sanghera (HKIAC); Mariel Dimsey (CMS Hong Kong); and Catherine Mun (Li & Partners).
